Math Coach Tracy Sykes Honored by Big 12 Conference

The Big 12 Conference, The College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation and its Extra Yard for Teachers Program has given Ms. Tracy Sykes, D89 Math Coach, $1,000 for classroom supplies. The Big 12 and the CFP Foundation believe that teachers are the fabric of the American education system, and recognizing the tremendous dedication of role models is critically important to both organizations.

Each student-athlete featured in the “Champions for Life” Campaign was given the opportunity to nominate a teacher who made a lasting impact on them during their academic journey. Jevon Carter, requested Ms. Tracy Sykes. He was her student at Lexington School in District 89. In a video, Carter speaks about how “Ms. Sykes made a huge impact in his life and is the reason that Math is his favorite subject.”

Congratulations Ms. Sykes on building #D89BrightFutures!
