My name is Sonya Mortell and I will be starting my 27th year here at Garfield School. I am excited to meet all of my students and can't wait to spend the 2020-2021 school year together. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. Like I mentioned, I have been a teacher at Garfield School for 27 years. I spent 17 of those years in kindergarten, 1 year in a first/second grade multi-age class and this will be my 9th year in second grade. I have a husband and two children who will also be remote learning this fall. We have a dog named Millie and we enjoy traveling. Our favorite places are Disney World/Land, California, and Alaska.
