Meet Mrs. Burns
HI, I’m Molly Burns, Art Teacher at Garfield and Roosevelt schools since 2023. This is my 14th year teaching Art and I absolutely love it.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a master’s in education from National Louis University in Illinois.
I’m very passionate about art and I’m hoping to instill that same passion in the students of District 89.
There are numerous benefits by having students participate in a rich art program including:
-
Engaging with school and reducing stress
-
Developing social-emotional and interpersonal skills
-
Enriching experiences
-
Handling constructive criticism
-
Bolstering academic achievement
-
Teaching students that there are several paths to take when approaching problems and that all problems can have more than one solution
-
Enhancing concentration, imagination, diversity, creativity, innovation, self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and critical thinking skills
